L.B.C. URBAN FARM | FAYETTEVILLE, AR

THIS PROJECT ENVISIONS A NEW SITE FOR AN EXISTING NON PROFIT, TRI-CYCLE FARMS. THE PROPOSAL FOR A NEW URBAN FARM BALANCES REVENUE GENERATION WITH COMMUNITY INVESTMENT BY EXPANDING THE URBAN FARM PROGRAM WITH COMMUNITY SPACES, A REGENERATIVE FOOD FOREST, AND HYDROPONIC GREENHOUSES AND SMALL HOUSING. THE ENTIRE SITE PROJECTS TO FUNCTION WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE LIVING BUILDING CHALLENGE.

LBC PROJECTS MUST BE ENERGY NET-POSITIVE AND DEAL WITH ALL WASTE AND WATER ON SITE. ENERGY AND WATER THEREFORE BECAME IMPORTANT PHYSICAL PROGRAMS ON THE SITE. BY REVEALING THESE SYSTEMS, VISITORS MAY BE INVOLVED IN A GREATER CONVERSATION ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY, FOOD SECURITY, AND RESILIENCE.

THE ORGANIZATION OF THE SITE SEEKS TO MAXIMIZE USE VALUE ACROSS USER PLATFORMS. HIGHLY FLEXIBLE AND SPECIFIC SPACES ARE BLENDED TO SUPPORT A FUNCTIONING URBAN FARM WHILE CURATING A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE FOR USERS.
