POINT SOURCE | FAYETTEVILLE, AR

THIS PROJECT ENVISIONS A STORMWATER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS AT FAYETTEVILLE CAMPUS, ADDRESSING PROBLEMS NOT ONLY AS AN ISOLATED INSTANCE OF REMEDIATION, BUT AS A PROTOTYPE AND OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY FOR NORTHWEST ARKANSAS.

THE PROJECT TEAM OF LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE AND BIOLOGICAL ENGINEERING STUDENTS IDENTIFIED CRITICAL SOCIAL NEEDS IN THE COMMUNITY AND INTEGRATED THEM INTO OUR APPROACH, CREATING A COMPREHENSIVE MASTERPLAN OF BOTH ECOLOGICAL AND SOCIAL INTERVENTIONS. A MODULAR, SCALABLE APPROACH ALLOWED THE DESIGN TO MAXIMIZE EFFICIENCY AND IMPLEMENTATION.

THE PROPOSAL SYNTHESIZES AN ARRAY OF TACTICS—MITIGATION AND INFILTRATION, FOOD PRODUCTION, ECOREGIONAL CONNECTION, COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND OUTREACH. I SERVED AS A DESIGN TEAM LEADER AND PRODUCED CRITICAL DRAWINGS FOR THE PROJECT INCLUDING PLAN, RENDERINGS, AND AXONS.
